Jupiter/Sagittarius - Part 2
Another aspect/dynamic of Jupiter/Sagittarius is truth. Pluto is currently
transiting Sagittarius and is squaring Jupiter in Virgo. One dynamic to examine
in this square is learning to discern what 'truth' is, as truth is relative.
What ideas, ideologies, beliefs, philosophies and religions, or parts of
them, are 'true?' According to Paramahansa Yogananda, "The truth is.
It cannot be voted into existence. It must be perceived by every individual
in the changeless Self within." And it is within that changeless self
that we become more aware of and hear more clearly the 'truth' as our intuition
develops and expands, which ultimately is the result of our sincere desire
to know God/dess.
The Bhagavad Gita, XVI:1-3, lists the 26 enobling qualities of
the Soul, the 11th of which is Truth (satya). According to Yogananda, there
are three kinds of truth mentioned in the Vedas.
First, there are relative truths (vyavaharika), or the values
that pertain to humans and nature. These values, which are ever-changing,
are the ones that influence us while we are awake.
Second, are the values that relate to humans in their ordinary dreaming
state, or sleep. This is when we are in touch with our subconscious mind
that can conjure images in the form of astral phenomena. These values are
imaginary truths (pratibhasik). They only have a certain validity
in the restricted realm of dreaming, as they are more fleeting, vague and
ambiguous than the world of matter that we perceive during our waking state.
Only in deep, dreamless sleep or in samadhi meditation do we abide in
our true nature, the soul, and are able to discern Absolute Truth(Paramarthika).
As the original ruler of Pisces and still the co-ruler, Jupiter relates
to Universal or Absolute Truth, but as the ruler of Sagittarius it encompasses
only a portion of that Universal Truth, relative to the five forms
of intuition. As we evolve and develop our intuition through our desire to
know God/Goddess, the Source, we climb the spiral of being able to discern
more and more of this Universal Truth reflected in the archetype of Pisces.
Again, as Yogananda states it, "Truth fully unveils its mysteries only
in the advanced devotee's own Self-realization, when the perception is not
through the intellect, but through the direct experience of the soul."
So, we can see how Jupiter/Sagittarius also relate to direct experience--a knowing from
experience rather than outside knowledge, not just in meditation, but in
our everyday experiences as well. This is how God/Goddess/Spirit speaks to
us, reveals herself to us. The voice of intuition is the means thru
which we can access what God wants for us in our lives.
Jupiter and Sagittarius are also very much about speaking one's truth,
keeping in mind what that means. Our truth is not about someone else. It
is about what we learn on our inner journey regarding universal principles
and truths, our inner experiences of the cosmos, God, Goddess. Knowing and
speaking one's truth relates to our understanding of timeless and universal
principles. It is about sharing that truth and honoring another's truth.
Yogananda has also said that when we speak what we understand, we need
to speak from the heart (Venus), not just the head (Jupiter). If we consider
the work of Velikovsky, who postulated that Venus was expelled from Jupiter,
we see the connection of heart and head. The heart chakra is our radio receiver
for God/dess's voice. To truly understand what God/dess is telling us demands
that we have an open heart.
With Pluto (Soul) currently transiting Sagittarius (truth)
and ruling the transiting South Node of the Moon (past-life ego), and Venus
(heart), currently transiting Gemini, ruling the North Node (evolving ego),
consider in your own life how to open your heart more fully to the whisper
of the Source within, to the desires of your Soul, to bring new depth and
understanding of your own journey back to that Source.
